The incident occurred around 3:30 pm amidst a large crowd of shoppers. Witnesses said the young man suddenly fell to the ground, though it was not immediately confirmed whether he jumped or fell accidentally.

A security guard on duty at the southern corner of the complex said he saw a young man fall from the sixth floor in what appeared to be a jumping motion.

The young man was carrying something resembling a small women's vanity bag, he added.

A shop worker on the ground floor said he heard a sound and saw a young man lying on the ground in a pool of blood. He was likely dead by then. Several people rushed him to the hospital.

An unidentified youth, aged approximately 27, was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 4:50 pm in critical condition. The duty doctor declared him dead after examination. The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.

The shopping complex's Senior GM (Head of Operation) Major Mizan said the youth jumped from the seventh floor in an apparent suicide. His identity could not be ascertained. Two guards helped rush him to the hospital. Police have been informed.

Police could not immediately confirm whether the incident was a suicide or something else.
