Youth dies after falling from multi-storey building in Dhanmondi

A youth has died after falling from the roof of a multi-storey building in the capital's Dhanmondi. The accident occurred on Saturday (May 2) afternoon.

Police said that the body of Md. Al-Mokabbor Islam, 33, was recovered from the concrete in the empty space between two flats of house number 31 on road number 11 in Dhanmondi at around 12:30pm. Later, after completing the legal process, it was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Dhanmondi Police Station Sub-Inspector Mohammad Rajib Hossain said that after talking to the relatives of the deceased, it was initially learned that Al-Mokabbor died on the spot after accidentally falling from the roof of the 11-storey building. However, an autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death. He also said that the deceased youth used to look after a school owned by his father.
