Youth dies after falling from train roof in Jamalpur

A young man named Abdul Hai, 28, has died after falling from the roof of a train in Jamalpur. The accident occurred in the Norundi Mirzapur area of Sadar upazila on Monday, August 3.

Jamalpur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter in the evening.

The deceased Abdul Hai was a resident of the Nandina area in Sadar upazila.

According to railway police sources, a Dhaka-bound commuter train that had left Dewanganj Bazar was heading towards Mymensingh after crossing Norundi station around 12pm on Monday. When the train reached the Mirzapur area, Abdul Hai, who was on the roof, fell down due to carelessness and died on the spot .

Later, police went to the scene and recovered the body after being informed by locals.

Jamalpur Railway Police Station OC Rabiul Islam said the body was sent to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway.
