Youth hacked, money bag snatched in Nilphamari

A youth named Abdur Razzak, 32, was hacked with sharp weapons and his money bag was snatched in Syedpur, Nilphamari. The incident occurred around 9:00 pm on Friday, March 13, on a bridge adjacent to the Rabea Bazar temple area in the city.

The injured Abdur Razzak is the son of Abul Hossain from the Sonapur area. He works as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company.

According to the victim and police sources, Razzak was heading towards the city from the Rabea Bazar area on Friday night with a bag containing money collected from various shops. When he reached an isolated spot on the bridge, several miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons, snatched the money bag, and fled.

Later, locals rushed to the spot hearing his screams and admitted him to hospital.

Syedpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim Reza said an incident of hacking a youth and snatching his money bag has occurred. The injured youth has been admitted to hospital. Police operations are ongoing to arrest the muggers.
