Youth killed after being struck by train in Feni
A young was killed after being struck by a moving train in Feni on Tuesday evening, with his body found dismembered along the Dhaka–Chattogram railway line.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hossain, 32, owner of Firoz Auto Parts in Feni town and a resident of Chithlia union in Parshuram Upazila.
The incident took place near Mathbariya, adjacent to Deyanganj in Feni Sadar, as the Mahanagar Godhuli Express was travelling from Chattogram to Dhaka, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP).
Police said Hossain was hit by the train while crossing or being on the tracks. The impact left his body dismembered, with remains scattered over nearly one kilometre of the railway line.
After being alerted by local residents, railway police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Feni General Hospital for an autopsy.
Officials of the Feni Town Traders' Welfare Association identified the victim through his membership card. Association representatives said Hossain had been dealing with business-related financial issues, though the circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.
GRP Sub-Inspector Md. Masudur Rahman said an unnatural death case will be filed as police continue to investigate the incident.
