A youth has allegedly killed three people, including his grandmother and aunt, by hacking and beating them with a spade in the Aliyabad union of Faridpur Sadar upazila. The brutal incident occurred around 10:00 pm on Monday, April 27, in the Goadhardangi village of the union.

The accused, Akash Mollah, 40, is the son of Harun Mollah of that village. The deceased are Akash's grandmother, Amena Begum, 75; his aunt, Saleha Begum, 55; and their neighbour, rickshaw puller Kabul Chowdhury, 49.

According to details of the incident, Akash suddenly became agitated at night and began attacking his grandmother and aunt with a spade. When neighbour Kabul Chowdhury came forward to save them, Akash also beat him to death.
