Youth sent to jail for 'raping' 10th grader

Police have arrested a youth on charges of kidnapping and raping a 10th grade student in Palash upazila of Narsingdi.

The accused was sent to jail by a court on Friday morning after the incident on Thursday night. Accused Misat Sheikh is a resident of the Darihawlapara area of ​​​​Purbalash of Palash.

The victim's mother filed a case against Misat Sheikh and his accomplice Maruf in this incident.

Palash Police Station OC Shahed Al Mamun confirmed the matter. He said that Misat Sheikh and Maruf forcibly kidnapped the girl on her way home from the shop at night.

Later, she was taken to an abandoned house and was raped. At that time, the victim's family members and locals went to capture Misat hearing her screams. Later, she was handed over to the police.

OC Shahed Al Mamun said that the police are working to bring the other accused under the law.
