Youth shot dead in Khulna

A young man was shot dead by some miscreants near the east side of Rupsha Bridge in Khulna.

The incident took place in front of the Jabusha Filling Station of the area on Sunday night (December 14).

The deceased, Sagar, son of Fayek Sheikh, was a resident of Green Bangla Housing.

Accoridng to police and local sources, Sagar was on his way home when a group of youths blocked his path and opened fire, hitting him in the head and knee. Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the gunshots, but the attackers fled immediately. Sagar was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors on duty declared him dead.

Abdur Razzak Mir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station, said, "CCTV footage is being collected. An investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive."
