Youth stabbed to death in Hazaribagh

A 28-year-old man has died after being stabbed by unidentified assailants in Hazaribagh, Dhaka. Police say multiple teams are investigating the killing to identify those responsible and determine the motive.

According to Hazaribagh Police Station, Sagar Hossain Bullet was seriously injured in a stabbing outside House No. 48/1/E, Bhagalpur Lane, at around 2am on Tuesday (22 July).

After receiving a call through the national emergency service 999, police officers went to the scene and rescued him in a critically injured condition. He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment at around 5:45am.

Sub-Inspector ABM Touhid of Hazaribagh Police Station said Sagar had sustained multiple stab wounds to the head. His body has been sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police said Sagar Hossain Bullet was a resident of Bhagalpur Lane in Hazaribagh and the son of the late Shahadat Hossain. He was unemployed.

SI Touhid said it is not yet clear who carried out the attack or what motivated the killing. He added that several police teams are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those involved.
