Youth's body recovered from Cox’s Bazar hilly area
Police have recovered the body of a young man from a hilly area bordering Ukhia in Khuniapalong union of Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Locals spotted the body on a hill adjacent to the border of Barabil area of Haldiapalong union of Ukhia, at the end of ward number 1 of Khuniapalong union around 10am on Friday and informed the police.
The incident site is located in a remote hilly area bordering Ramu, Ukhia and Naikshongchhari upazilas.
The deceased Mohammad Yunus is a resident of Uttar Barabil village of Haldiapalong union of Ukhia upazila. He is the son of Mir Ahmed.
On receiving the information, Ramu police reached the spot, recovered the body, prepared a post-mortem report and sent it to the morgue of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam Bhuiyan said the body was recovered based on information provided by locals. The deceased has been identified and an investigation is underway to find out the real cause of death.
He said the cause of death can be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report.
