Youths must come forward to embrace innovation,technology-driven work: Mirza Fakhrul

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the country's young generation to focus on innovation, research and technology-driven initiatives to help drive the country's future development.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the 'Soleman Solar Irrigation Pump', an innovation developed by local inventor Soleman Ali, in Raipur Union of Thakurgaon Sadar on Friday (July 3), the minister stressed the importance of nurturing creativity over distractions.

"Young people should not remain occupied only with Argentina and Brazil. They must channel their energy into innovation, creativity and productive pursuits," he said.

Praising the inventor's achievement, Mirza Fakhrul described the solar-powered irrigation system as an "extraordinary innovation" that could make a meaningful contribution to the country's agriculture and economy.

"This is not merely an individual's success. Soleman Ali's innovation has the potential to benefit the agricultural sector and strengthen the national economy. The younger generation has much to learn from such innovators, who will play a key role in shaping the country's future," he added.

The minister also assured Soleman Ali of the government's full support in advancing and expanding his innovation.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rafiqul Haque, Superintendent of Police Belal Hossain, LGED Executive Engineer Mohammad Mamun Biswas, District BNP General Secretary Paigam Ali and other senior officials.
