BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, is expected to arrive in Dhaka from London on Friday morning (December 5) to coordinate the transfer of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London for advanced medical treatment.

If flight arrangements are completed earlier, a team may depart with Khaleda Zia beforehand.

Mahdi Amin, adviser to Tarique Rahman, shared the update on Facebook, noting that Khaleda Zia’s health has improved thanks to the tireless efforts of her medical board, the prayers of the nation, and diplomatic support.

He said, “To ensure advanced and state-of-the-art treatment, the decision has been made to admit Madam (Khaleda Zia) to a London hospital as soon as possible.”

Amin added, “Dr. Zubaida Rahman, who is coordinating the entire process from London, will depart today and attempt to reach Dhaka by Friday morning to accompany the country’s leader in Qatar’s advanced air ambulance to London.”

Meanwhile, British specialist Dr. Richard Bell has already arrived in Dhaka in preparation for the transfer. Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 23 in critical condition with severe lung and heart infections, and is currently being treated for kidney, heart, and newly developed pneumonia complications under a medical board led by Prof. Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder, of which Zubaida Rahman is a key member.
