Five passengers were injured after an Alif Paribahan bus fell into the Meradia Canal in Dhaka’s Banasree on Saturday evening. Khilgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Daud Hossain told the media that police and fire service personnel are working to rescue the bus from the canal. After being informed, a fire service unit went to the spot at 6:10 pm, said Rozina Akhter, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room. Further information can be given after the bus is recovered from the canal, the police official added.

রাজধানীর বনশ্রীতে আলিফ নামের একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস উল্টে খালে পড়ে গেছে। এতে ৫ জন আহত হয়েছেন। এ সংখ্যা আরও বাড়তে পারে বলে আশঙ্কা করা হচ্ছে। শনিবার (৩০ নভেম্বর) সন্ধ্যা পৌনে ৬টার দিকে মেরাদিয়া বাজার এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে বলে জানিয়েছেন ফায়ার সার্ভিসের নিয়ন্ত্রণ কক্ষের ডিউটি অফিসার রোজিনা আক্তার। তিনি বলেন, আজ (শনিবার) সন্ধ্যা ৫টা ৪২ মিনিটের দিকে বনশ্রীর মেরাদিয়া এলাকায় আলিফ পরিবহনের একটি বাস উল্টে খালে পড়ে যায়। খাল থেকে বাসটি উদ্ধার করতে পুলিশ আমাদের খবর দেয়। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের দুটি ইউনিট উদ্ধার কাজ পরিচালনা করছে। খিলগাঁও থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) দৌলত খান জানান, সন্ধ্যা ৬টার দিকে আলিফ নামের একটি বাস উল্টে খালে পড়ে যায়। এতে তিনজন আহত হওয়ার খবর পাওয়া গেছে। তবে এখন পর্যন্ত নিহতের কোনো খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। গাড়িটি উদ্ধার কাজ চলছে। আহতদের নিকটস্থ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে।
