Ten more children have died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, according to the latest report from the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday, April 8. The total number of confirmed measles deaths since March 15 now stands at 21, while suspected measles deaths have reached 138. The report said 1,248 children were hospitalised with suspected measles in the last 24 hours, and 189 new confirmed cases were detected. The total number of confirmed measles cases now stands at 1,398, while suspected cases hospitalised have reached 7,577. A total of 5,241 children have been discharged after recovery. Most deaths have occurred in Dhaka division, according to the health directorate. Surveillance and treatment efforts have been intensified to control the situation.

দেশে হামের উপসর্গ নিয়ে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় আরও ১০ শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ নিয়ে গত ১৫ মার্চ থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত মোট মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ২১ জনে। পাশাপাশি সন্দেহজনক হামে মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা ১৩৮ জনে পৌঁছেছে। বুধবার (৮ এপ্রিল) স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তর প্রকাশিত সর্বশেষ প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সন্দেহজনক হামে আক্রান্ত হয়ে ১ হাজার ২৪৮ শিশু হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছে। একই সময়ে ১৮৯ জনের হাম শনাক্ত হয়েছে। এখন পর্যন্ত দেশে মোট আক্রান্ত শিশুর সংখ্যা ১ হাজার ৩৯৮ জন। আর সন্দেহজনক হামে ভর্তি রোগীর সংখ্যা ৭ হাজার ৫৭৭ জনে দাঁড়িয়েছে। অন্যদিকে, চিকিৎসা শেষে সুস্থ হয়ে হাসপাতাল থেকে ছাড়া পেয়েছে ৫ হাজার ২৪১ জন শিশু। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, এসব মৃত্যুর বেশির ভাগই ঢাকা বিভাগে ঘটেছে। পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে নজরদারি ও চিকিৎসা কার্যক্রম জোরদার করা হয়েছে বলে জানানো হয়েছে।
