11 senior police officers transferred, promoted
A major reshuffle and promotion has taken place at the top levels of Bangladesh Police. In two separate notifications issued by the Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, six Additional IGP and five DIG-rank officers of the BCS (Police) cadre have been transferred and appointed to new posts.
The two notifications were issued by order of the President on Thursday, September 17, signed by Deputy Secretary Tausif Ahmed.
According to the first notification, Sayedur Rahman, Director (DIG) of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, has been promoted to Additional IGP of Police Headquarters. Mainul Hasan, Additional IGP (current charge) of Tourist Police, has been appointed as Principal of Sardah Police Academy in Rajshahi.
Dhaka Range DIG Iqbal Hossain and Police Headquarters DIG Kamrul Ahsan have been promoted to Additional IGP of Police Headquarters and Additional IGP of the Special Branch (SB) respectively.
Additionally, Special Branch Additional IGP Sardar Nurul Amin has been transferred to Police Headquarters, and Sardah Police Academy Principal GM Azizur Rahman has been transferred as Additional IGP of Tourist Police.
In the second notification, five DIG-rank officers have been transferred. Among them, Police Headquarters DIG Rezaul Karim has been transferred as Khulna Range DIG, and Khulna Range DIG Mustafizur Rahman has been transferred as Dhaka Range DIG.
Anti-Terrorism Unit DIG Mohammad Muslim has been made Director of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, SB DIG Mir Ashraf Ali has been made DIG of Railway Police, and Mass Rapid Transit (Metrorail) DIG Siddique Tanjilur Rahman has been given the responsibility of SB DIG.
The notifications stated that the orders, issued in the public interest, shall take immediate effect.
