1,202 more politically motivated cases to be withdrawn

The Home Ministry has approved the withdrawal of another 1,202 politically motivated harassment cases filed against opposition leaders and activists during the previous government's 17-year rule.

The information was shared in a text message on Tuesday signed by Home Ministry Public Relations Officer (Director) Faisal Hasan.

The message stated that approval has been given to withdraw another 1,202 politically motivated harassment cases filed against opposition leaders and activists during the 17-year rule of the past fascist government.

Earlier, on February 22, the Home Ministry had informed about the withdrawal of 1,006 politically motivated harassment cases. On February 8, the Law Ministry had stated that the interim government recommended withdrawing 23,865 cases. As a result, nearly five lakh people have been relieved from harassment cases.
