13th Parliament's budget session concludes, 10 bills passed

The second session (budget session) of the 13th National Parliament has concluded. Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal announced the conclusion of the current session on Wednesday, July 15, after reading out President Md Sahabuddin's proclamation on the closure of the session.

The session comprised 26 working days. The general discussion on the budget continued for 14 working days, lasting a total of 48 hours and 51 minutes. A total of 316 members of parliament took part in the discussion.

During the session, 10 government bills were passed. Under Rule 71 of the Rules of Procedure, 715 notices were submitted, of which 24 were accepted and discussions were held on 22 notices. Additionally, 125 two-minute notices were discussed under Rule 71(A). Four resolution proposals were discussed and disposed of under Rule 131.

A total of 278 questions were submitted for the Prime Minister to answer, of which 35 were laid on the table. Of the 5,031 questions submitted for various ministries, 3,474 were answered.

During this session, a total of 11 committees were formed, including a special committee on constitutional amendment. The Business Advisory Committee was also reconstituted.

At the conclusion of the session, the Deputy Speaker wished for the continued happiness, peace and prosperity of the country and the nation. He then read out the President's order and declared the conclusion of the second (budget) session of the 13th National Parliament.
