14 political parties, alliances meet with chief adviser

Representatives of 14 political parties and alliances held a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday (July 26). The meeting began at 5:00 PM at the state guest house Jamuna in the capital.

According to the Chief Adviser’s press wing, top leaders from various political parties participated in the discussion.

Among the attendees were Aminul Haque Tipu Biswas of the National People's Front (Nagof), Mostafa Jamal Haider of the 12-Party Alliance, Maulana Abdul Majed Athari of Nezame Islam Party, Maulana Yusuf Ashraf of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Fariduzzaman Farhad, Chairman of the NPP, Syed Ehsanul Huda, Chairman of the National Party, Dr. Mushtaq Hossain of Bangladesh JASAD, Bobby Hajjaj of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Shamim Haider, Secretary General of Zaker Party, Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji, Secretary General of Islami Oikya Jote, Rafiqul Islam Babul, Chairman of the Bhasani Janashakti Party, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Chairman of the Bangladesh Labour Party, Masud Rana, Coordinator of the Marxist faction of BSD (BASAD) and Manjurul Islam Afendi of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

The meeting marked a rare collective engagement between the interim government and a broad range of political actors.
