The Directorate of Technical Education has ordered the use of only one main entrance to strengthen the security of 161 government technical schools and colleges in the country. At the same time, instructions have been given to keep the main gate and its surrounding area under round-the-clock CCTV surveillance.

An office order in this regard was recently issued and sent to the principals of all government technical schools and colleges in the country.

The order, signed by the Assistant Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, Md. Enayet Karim, said that a large number of students are studying in 161 government technical schools and colleges under the department. In addition, these institutions have valuable government equipment and important infrastructure.

The security review has shown that many institutions have multiple entrances or pocket gates open, creating opportunities for unauthorized persons to enter, which is risky for the safety of students, teachers, employees and government assets.

In this situation, only one main gate has been ordered to be open for movement within the boundary wall of the institutions as per the specified time. It has been informed that all other entrances will be kept under control.

In addition, it has been ordered to keep the main gate and the area around it under CCTV cameras at all times, monitor the footage regularly and make the security system more effective.

The department has requested the heads of the institutions concerned to implement the instructions quickly and inform the department about the progress of implementation, describing the matter as 'very urgent'.

The concerned officials say that this initiative has been taken to ensure the security of educational institutions and protect government assets.
