17 more senior police officers sent into forced retirement
The government has sent another 17 senior officers of the BCS Police cadre into forced retirement in the public interest. A notification to this effect was issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, May 3.
According to the notification signed by Senior Secretary Manjur Morshed Chowdhury, the officers have been retired under Section 45 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 2018 . They will receive all retirement benefits, and the order is effective immediately .
Those retired include DIGs, heads of various units, and officers of metropolitan police commissioner rank . The list includes:

Imtiaz Ahmed, DIG of Highway Police
Habibur Rahman, DIG of CID Dhaka
Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, DIG (TR) of Police Headquarters
Harun-or-Rashid, Director of NSI
S M Akhtaruzzaman, DIG of Police Staff College
Md Hayder Ali Khan, Commandant of Noakhali Police Training Centre (PTC)
Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, Commandant of Khulna PTC
Md Ruhul Amin, DIG of Tourist Police
Md Rafiqul Hasan Goni, DIG of Highway Police
Md Mizanur Rahman, DIG of Naval Police
Md Majid Ali, Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police
Kazi Zia Uddin, DIG of Police Headquarters
Md Golam Rauf Khan, DIG of Railway Police
Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Haider, Commandant of Rangpur PTC
Rakhfar Sultana Khanam, DIG of Highway Police
Farhat Ahmed, Police Superintendent (Supernumerary Additional DIG rank) of Railway Police
Earlier on April 22, the government had sent 13 DIG and Additional DIG-rank officers into forced retirement.
