189 Bangladeshis return home from Dubai
A total of 189 Bangladeshi nationals stranded in Dubai of United Arab Emirates, due to suspended flights amid the ongoing Middle East tensions, have returned home on a special flight.
The special flight operated by US-Bangla Airlines landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:07am on Thursday (March 5).
Considering the current situation in the Middle East, US-Bangla Airlines has arranged special flights on the Dhaka–Dubai–Dhaka route to assist Bangladeshi expatriates who were stranded.
According to the schedule, the first special flight departed Dhaka at 7:20pm on Wednesday (March 4) for Dubai and returned from Dubai for Dhaka at 12:20am.
The second special flight is scheduled to leave Dhaka for Dubai at 5:15pm on Thursday, while the return flight will depart Dubai for Dhaka at 10:00pm.
Authorities at Dubai Airport have granted permission to several airlines, including US-Bangla Airlines, Emirates and Air India, to operate such special flights.
Priority is being given to Bangladeshi passengers whose visas have already expired or are about to expire.
