A large quantity of gold has once again been seized from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Joint forces from intelligence agency DGFI, AVSEC, and Customs House uncovered a gold consignment weighing nearly 19 kg aboard Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-148, which arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Dubai via Chattogram.

The gold was seized during a raid conducted on the flight on Thursday morning (July 2).

Sources stated that, acting on a tip-off, a smart team from the DGFI initiated a search in the aircraft's cargo hold. Later, with the assistance of AVSEC, 160 gold bars weighing a total of 18 kg 720 grams were recovered. However, no one has been detained in connection with the incident so far.

Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, Kamrul Islam, stated that the estimated market value of the seized gold is approximately 45 crore BDT.

Notably, a similar incident occurred in March of this year when nearly 18 kg of gold was recovered from another Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
