2 more deaths from dengue, 1056 new admissions in one day

The prevalence of dengue continues in the country. Two more people have died from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours. In the same period 1,056 people have newly been admitted to hospital for treatment.

These information were informed in the regular dengue-related bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday (September 12). It has been said that this information of new patient admissions and deaths in 24 hours from 8am on Friday to 8am on Saturday has been received.

According to the calculation of the Directorate General of Health Services, 143 people have died from dengue infection so far this year. Of these, two died in January, two in February, one in May, 13 in June, 36 in July and 43 in August. 46 people have already died in the first 12 days of September.

In terms of new patient admissions the highest pressure has been seen in various hospitals outside Dhaka. In the last one day 108 people were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation area and 76 people in hospitals of South City Corporation area. Another 251 people were admitted outside the two city corporations of Dhaka.

In division-based calculation 144 people in Barisal, 103 in Chattogram, 199 in Khulna, 48 in Mymensingh, 73 in Rajshahi, 47 in Rangpur and seven dengue patients in Sylhet were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours.

Information of the Directorate General of Health Services says that from January 1 to Saturday morning a total of 50,276 people have received treatment in hospital after being infected with dengue in the country. Among them 46,699 people have recovered and returned home. Currently 3,134 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals of the country.
