2027 SSC exams to be held in December: Education Minister

The 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be held in December this year as part of efforts to eliminate session congestion in the country's education system, Education Minister Dr Ehsanul Haque Milon has said.

He made the announcement while speaking to journalists after a meeting on the transfer policy for teachers and staff of MPO-listed educational institutions at the Secretariat on Saturday, April 25.

"We are determined to rid students' lives of the curse of session congestion. Examinations were disrupted in the post-Covid period and due to various political situations. This decision has been taken to bring the schedule back to its normal rhythm. We want to conclude the 2027 SSC examinations by December this year," Milon said.

The minister also said the 2027 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations would be brought forward for the same reason, though he did not specify a timeline for when those exams might begin.

Regarding the transfer of MPO-listed teachers, the minister said a new policy would be implemented soon to make the transfer process more transparent and user-friendly.
