21 senior police officers transferred in major reshuffle

The government has carried out a major reshuffle in the police administration, transferring and reassigning 21 senior officers of the BCS (Police) cadre. The order was issued through a notification from the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, June 28.

The reshuffle covers officers of the ranks of Additional Inspector General (Additional IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Additional DIG and Superintendent of Police (SP).

Among those promoted, DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman has been made Additional IGP at Police Headquarters. NSI Director (DIG) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has been appointed Additional IGP of CID. DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been made Additional IGP of Police Telecom. RAB Additional Director General (DIG) Faruk Ahmed has been promoted to Additional IGP of Highway Police.

At the DIG level, Prolay Chisim has been posted to Police Training Centre (PTC) Noakhali. Mia Masud Karim has been posted to FDMN office of APBn. Mohammad Osman Ghani has been posted to PTC Rangpur. AFM Mosharraf Hossian Miah has been posted to PTC Khulna.

At the Additional DIG level, Moha. Asaduzzaman has been posted to RAB. A K M Akhtaruzzaman and Md Kutub Uddin have been posted to Police Headquarters. Md Al Mamun has been made Commandant of 2nd APBn. Sarkar Mohammad Kayser has been posted to PSTS Betbunia. Mohammad Mahibul Islam Khan has been transferred to Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA), Sardah.

Additionally, Additional DIG Md Abdul Warish has been attached to PTC Rangpur. Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been attached to the DIG Barishal Range office.

At the SP level, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir has been posted to Police Headquarters. Md Jahidur Rahman has been posted to Bangladesh Police Academy, Sardah. Salma Sayed Poly has been attached to the DIG Rangpur Range office. Md Shahidul Islam and Md Kamruzzaman have been attached to the DIG Barishal Range office.

The notification, signed by Ministry of Home Affairs Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmed, stated that the orders, issued in the public interest, take immediate effect.
