A total of 210 passenger flights from Dhaka have been canceled over the past six days, according to Muhammad Kawser Mahmud, Assistant Director (Public Relations) at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).

The development comes amid the ongoing security concerns in the Middle East, which led to the temporary closure of airspace over Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan since February 28.

The breakdown includes 23 flights on February 28, 40 on March 1, 46 on March 2, 39 on March 3, 28 on March 4, and 34 on March 5.

Thursday’s cancellations included four Qatar Airways flights, four Kuwait Airways, four Jazeera Airways (Kuwait), ten Air Arabia (Sharjah, UAE), four Emirates, two US-Bangla Airlines, two Gulf Air (Bahrain), and four Flydubai flights.

Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dammam, Doha, and Kuwait until March 5 due to the airspace restrictions.

Authorities advised passengers to check with airlines for updated schedules and make alternative travel arrangements.
