25 newly appointed judges take oath

Twenty-five newly appointed judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court took their oath of office today (Tuesday) at a formal ceremony held in the Judges' Lounge of the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath to the new judges at noon.

The event was attended by judges from both the High Court and Appellate Divisions, senior lawyers, journalists, and other distinguished guests. The ceremony began with recitations from the Holy Quran, the Gita, and the Tripitaka, reflecting the country’s religious diversity.

Md. Moazzem Hossain, Registrar (Judicial) of the Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of the ceremony.

In preparation for the event, the Judges' Lounge was specially arranged with designated seating for the newly appointed judges.

The appointments were made official on Monday night (August 25) through a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
