Amid the ongoing war situation in Iran, fuel-carrying vessels are arriving at Chattogram port to keep the country's fuel supply system operational.

In continuation of this, the tanker vessel 'PVT Solana' carrying 27,300 tonnes of refined diesel from Malaysia has arrived at Chattogram port.

The Panama-flagged vessel 'PVT Solana', imported by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), reached the outer anchorage of Chattogram port in the early hours of Tuesday, March 31.

Earlier on Monday, Chattogram Port Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim said the vessel named 'PVT Solana' carrying 27,300 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia was en route to Chattogram port. The fuel will be unloaded through lighters after completing necessary formalities.

If needed, the vessel will be berthed at the dolphin jetty for fuel unloading operations.

Additionally, port sources have indicated that another vessel carrying approximately 70,000 tonnes of LNG may arrive on April 4.

A total of 33 vessels carrying various types of fuel have arrived at Chattogram port in the past month. Among these, 15 vessels carried fuel oil, eight carried LNG (liquefied natural gas), and nine carried LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).
