293 fuel monitoring operations conducted in 24 hrs, 78 cases filed

In a nationwide drive to monitor the fuel supply situation, authorities conducted 293 operations and mobile courts in a single day, resulting in 78 cases filed and fines totaling Tk 3,15,550.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said in a press release on Saturday that the operations were carried out simultaneously on March 27 across 62 districts to prevent irregularities in the fuel sector. Legal action was taken against those found violating regulations.

The release added that executive magistrates from the energy department continue to conduct mobile courts regularly in Dhaka and other areas, with such monitoring operations set to continue.

The public has been urged to report any suspected irregularities or malpractice in the fuel sector to the relevant vigilance teams.
