3 killed in expressway crash in Munshiganj

Three people were killed and one critically injured when a private car overturned on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Sholaghar, Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj in this early morning ( August 21).

The accident took place around 6 AM when a Dhaka-bound private car from Mawa suffered a tire puncture, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle hit the road divider and overturned, according to Srinagar Highway Police and Fire Service officials.

Two people died at the scene. Two others were taken to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex, where one was declared dead. The remaining victim is in critical condition and undergoing treatment.

The accident disrupted traffic on the Mawamukhi lane of the expressway for about an hour. Highway Police and Fire Service personnel cleared the wreckage and restored traffic flow.

Confirming the matter, Hansara Highway Police Outpost in-charge Abdul Quader Jilani, said, "Efforts are underway to identify the victims."
