3 more deaths with measles symptoms

The Directorate General of Health Services has informed that three more people have died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours in the country. With this the number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms this year has increased to 1,084.

This information was given in the measles-related notice of the Directorate General of Health Services on Friday (September 25). In it the situation of the latest 24 hours from 8am Thursday to 8am Friday has been presented.

According to the information of the Directorate General of Health Services, 983 people have died with measles symptoms from April 10 till now. In the same period 101 people have died after measles was confirmed.

Meanwhile, measles symptoms have appeared in the bodies of 1,201 new people across the country in the last 24 hours. With this the number of patients in whom measles symptoms have appeared in the country from April 10 till now has stood at 1,85,833.

In the same period measles has been confirmed in the bodies of 64 people in the laboratory. As a result the number of confirmed measles patients in the country from April 10 till now has stood at 21,015.

In the calculation of deaths with measles symptoms the highest number of deaths has occurred in Dhaka Division. 443 people have died in this division so far. Then 173 in Sylhet Division, 93 in Rajshahi, 78 in Mymensingh, 78 in Chattogram, 60 in Barishal, 43 in Khulna and 15 in Rangpur Division.

According to the calculation of the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 1,64,248 people have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms from April 10 till now. Of them 1,57,807 people have received treatment and been discharged from hospital.
