3 more dengue deaths, 907 hospitalised in 24 hours
Three more deaths from dengue were reported in the country over the past 24 hours, while 907 more patients were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 88 people have died from dengue this year. Of them, 34 died in August alone.
The DGHS bulletin on Tuesday said over the past 24 hours, 88 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation area, 168 in Dhaka South City Corporation area, and 449 outside the two Dhaka city corporations.
Among other divisions, 163 were hospitalised in Barishal, 99 in Chattogram, 202 in Khulna, 45 in Mymensingh, 73 in Rajshahi, 19 in Rangpur and 1 in Sylhet.
According to the DGHS, 894 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.
Since January 1 this year, 30,830 patients have been hospitalised with dengue across the country. Of them, 28,652 have recovered and been discharged.
