3rd session of parliament ends, all 6 bills passed

The third session of the 13th National Parliament has ended. The session, which began on August 27, concluded on Thursday. On the closing day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Opposition Leader Shafiqur Rahman delivered speeches. Later, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed read out the President's notice proroguing the session.

A total of six bills were placed during the nine working days of the session, and all of them were passed.

Alongside legislation, more than 48 parliamentary committees, including three special committees, were formed and reconstituted during the session. Members also gave notices on various matters under different rules of parliamentary procedure.

Seven notices were received under Rule 68, of which two were accepted and discussed. Fifteen notices were accepted under Rule 71, and 14 of them were discussed. A total of 124 notices were received for two-minute speeches under Rule 71A. Additionally, one of two notices under Rule 147 was discussed, and one notice was placed under Rule 302.

During this session, MPs gave notices for a total of 144 questions for the Prime Minister to answer. Of these, the Prime Minister answered 15 questions.

A total of 2,676 notices for questions were received for ministers of various ministries to answer. Of these, the concerned ministers answered 1,678 questions.
