3rd third terminal of Shahjalal Airport likely to open in December

The government has decided to begin the operation of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on December 16 of this year or at the beginning of the new year, said State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat.

He made this announcement after a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on Thursday (April 23) morning.

The State Minister further said that the Prime Minister has directed to transform Biman into a profitable institution at any cost.

He said that the government's decision to launch Cox's Bazar Airport will come after the next budget.

He said that the ministry is working on purchasing 14 aircraft from Boeing and leasing some aircraft by April 30. Besides, the government is thinking of implementing the PPP model plan to make the country's tourist centers profitable.
