49 candidates declared valid for reserved women’s seats

The Election Commission (EC) has published the list of 49 valid candidates from different parties for the 50 reserved women seats of the 13th National Parliament. The list published includes candidates from various political parties and alliances on Monday (April 27).

According to the list, the maximum number of 36 women candidates have been nominated from BNP. Some of the notable ones among them are Nilofar Chowdhury Moni, Selima Rahman, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Fahmida Haque and Anna Minj.

On the other hand, 12 candidates have been nominated from Jamaat-e-Islami and the 11-party alliance led by them. The list includes the names of Mardia Momtaz, Marzia Begum, Sabikunnahar, Tasmia Pradhan and Mahmuda Alam Mitu. However, the name of the discussed leader Monira Sharmin was not included in the list.

In addition, an independent candidate named Sultana Jasmine has also received a valid nomination.
