544 collect BNP nomination forms for reserved women’s seats on first day

544 candidates collected BNP nomination forms on the first day of the election for reserved women's seats of the 13th National Parliament. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed this information to the media on Friday evening.

Earlier, the party's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi inaugurated the program at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan at 11am.

Party sources said that the cost of each nomination form is 2,000 taka. The form must be submitted by April 12. Each candidate will have to pay 50,000 taka as a deposit while submitting the form.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, the voting will be held on May 12. The last date for submission of nomination papers is April 21, scrutiny on April 22 and 23, appeal on April 26, appeal settlement on April 27 and 28, the last day for withdrawal of candidacy on April 29 and symbol allocation on April 30.

Out of the total 350 seats in the National Assembly, 50 are reserved for women. According to the current seat allocation, BNP will get 36, Jamaat-e-Islami and its alliance will get 13, and there will be 1 seat for independent candidates.
