5-day weather outlook: Rain, thunderstorms likely across country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate thundershowers across the country, with heavy rainfall at some places over the next several days.

According to the forecast issued by meteorologist Md Hafizur Rahman on Sunday, June 7, many places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions may experience temporary gusty winds and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours. Day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures may drop slightly.

The forecast also provided outlooks for the coming days:

Monday, June 8: Many places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may experience thundershowers with gusty winds and lightning. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly.

Tuesday, June 9: Many places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may experience thundershowers. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

Wednesday, June 10: Some places in all eight divisions may experience thundershowers. Day temperatures may rise slightly.

Thursday, June 11: Many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may experience thundershowers. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
