Students at 669 educational institutions across the country achieved a 100 percent pass rate in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations, while 312 institutions recorded a zero pass rate, official results showed Monday (August 10).

The figures underline a sharp contrast in institutional performance as the country’s overall SSC and equivalent pass rate fell to 62.25 percent, down from 68.45 percent in 2025.

A total of 30,402 educational institutions had students sitting for this year’s examinations. Of them, 669 recorded a 100 percent pass rate, meaning every candidate from those institutions passed. At the other end of the spectrum, none of the candidates at 312 institutions managed to pass.

The number of top-performing institutions has declined significantly from last year. In 2025, 984 institutions recorded a 100% pass rate, while only 134 institutions had a zero pass rate.

That means the number of institutions with a perfect pass rate fell by 315, while those with no successful candidates more than doubled, rising by 178.

The decline was also reflected in the number of students securing the highest grade. This year, 116,676 students obtained GPA-5, compared with 139,032 in 2025 — a drop of 22,356.

The results point to a widening performance gap among institutions, with far fewer schools achieving universal success and substantially more recording complete failure this year.
