7 injured in July uprising sent to Singapore for advanced treatment

Under the initiative of the interim government and the Ministry of Health, seven individuals who sustained eye injuries during the mass uprising in the July-August period have been sent to Singapore on Friday (January 24) for advanced treatment.

A Biman Bangladesh flight BG-0584, carrying the victims of the July movement, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning. The matter was confirmed by Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Senior Information Officer at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The individuals who have been sent to Singapore for treatment are: Abdullah Al Baki, Akter Hossain, Md Yeamin, Foyez Ahmed, Minhajul Islam Shuvo, Mohammad Ramjan and Salman Bin Shoaib.

Earlier, on Thursday night, the flight tickets were handed over to the injured by Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, the personal officer of Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum, and Dr. Mahbuda Alam Mitu, convener of the Treatment Cell for the Injured.

While handing over the flight tickets, Dr. Mahmudul Hasan said, "We have been working on the treatment of the injured since I took office. The health advisor consistently inquires about their condition. We will soon send more victims abroad for treatment."
