7 more deaths with measles symptoms in 24 hours
Seven more people have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 1,009 people have died from measles and its symptoms nationwide from March 15 to Thursday, September 10.
The information was provided in the regular measles report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday, September 10.
According to the report, three people died with measles symptoms in Dhaka division in the last day. Additionally, one death each was reported in Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chattogram and Khulna divisions. Of the total deaths, 909 died with measles symptoms and 100 died from confirmed measles.
Meanwhile, 29 new cases of measles were detected in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 1,165 more people showed measles symptoms. As a result, a total of 168,745 people have shown measles symptoms nationwide from March 15 to Thursday. During this period, measles was confirmed in 19,933 people.
According to DGHS data, a total of 148,505 people were hospitalised with measles and its symptoms at various hospitals across the country during the same period. Of them, 142,888 recovered and were discharged after treatment.
