7 more die from measles, related symptoms in 24 hours
In the past 24 hours, three people have died from confirmed measles, while four additional deaths have been reported from suspected measles cases across the country.
The information was released in a press statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Friday (April 24).
According to the statement, 1215 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to April 24, the total number of suspected cases has reached 29549.
During the same 24-hour period, 172 cases were confirmed through laboratory testing. Since March 15, the total number of confirmed measles cases has risen to 4231.
The DGHS further reported that between March 15 and April 24, 19705 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals, while 16527 patients have recovered and been discharged.
In the last 24 hours alone, three deaths were confirmed due to measles. The total number of confirmed measles deaths since March 15 has reached 42.
Additionally, four deaths were recorded in suspected measles cases during the same 24-hour period. From March 15 to April 24, suspected measles-related deaths have reached 198 nationwide.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation amid concerns over the rapid spread of infection across the country.
