Meghna Petroleum Limited Manager (Operations) Kazi Md. Rabiul Alam told the media that diesel pumping started from Assam's Numaligarh Refinery around 8:30pm on Monday. It will take about 65 hours for this entire consignment of 7,000 metric tons to reach the Parbatipur depot.

He further assured that there is currently no diesel crisis in the country. Apart from having adequate stocks, the supply system is also normal. After this consignment, another 5,000 metric tons of diesel will be imported in the next phase.

According to relevant sources, there are plans to import a total of 25,000 metric tons of diesel from India this month. Of this, 13,000 metric tons of diesel have already reached the country through two shipments.
