75 commercial courts established nationwide, 3 in Dhaka

To resolve commercial disputes quickly and effectively, the government has for the first time established commercial courts across the country. A notification was issued on Tuesday, February 3, by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law. The courts have been established in consultation with the Supreme Court under the powers of the 'Commercial Court Ordinance, 2026' mentioned in the notification.

Under the notification, three commercial courts have been established in the Dhaka Metropolis and two in the Chattogram Metropolis. Additionally, 70 more courts have been set up in other metropolitan areas and at the district level across the country. Thus, a total of 75 commercial courts will commence operations nationwide.

Commercial Courts in Dhaka Metropolis

Court-1: Dhanmondi, Adabar, Shah Ali, Mirpur Model, Pallabi, Darus Salam, Rupnagar, Uttara West, North Khan, Turag, Uttara East, South Khan, Cantonment, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Airport, Bhasantek, Kafrul Police Stations.

Court-2: Motijheel, Ramna, Shahbagh, Gulshan, Badda, Vatara, Mohammadpur, Kalabagan, Rampura, Demra, Jatrabari, Banani, Khilkhet, Tejgaon, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Hatirjhil, Shahjahanpur Police Stations.

Court-3: Kotwali, Shyampur, Chawkbazar, Bongshal, Kadamtoli, Gendaria, Wari, Sutrapur, Lalbagh, New Market, Kamrangirchar, Hazaribagh, Khilgaon, Mugda, Sabujbagh, Paltan Police Stations.

A separate commercial court has been designated for the areas of Dhaka district outside the metropolis.

Commercial Courts in Chattogram Metropolis

Court-1: Kotwali, Sadarghat, Chawkbazar, Karnaphuli, Patenga, EPZ, Bandar, Double Mooring Police Stations.

Court-2: Chandgaon, Bakalia, Panchlaish, Khulshi, Pahartali, Bayezid Bostami, Halishahar, Akbar Shah Police Stations.

A separate commercial court will exist for the areas of Chattogram district outside the metropolis.

Commercial Courts in Other Districts

Dhaka Division: Narayanganj, Gazipur District & Metropolis, Narsingdi, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Kishoreganj, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Rajbari.

Sylhet Division: Sylhet District & Metropolis, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj.

Mymensingh Division: Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Sherpur.

Rajshahi Division: Rajshahi District & Metropolis, Chapainawabganj, Sirajganj, Bogura, Joypurhat, Natore, Naogaon, Pabna.

Rangpur Division: Rangpur District & Metropolis, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh.

Khulna Division: Khulna District & Metropolis, Jashore, Narail, Magura, Jhenaidah, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Kushtia, Meherpur, Chuadanga.
