9 DCs transferred to ministries, divisions

The government has transferred nine serving deputy commissioners (DCs) to various ministries and divisions in line with the appointment of 15 new DCs across the country.

The Ministry of Public Administration confirmed the transfers through three separate notifications issued late on Saturday (November 8).

According to the notifications, Habiganj DC Faridur Rahman has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration, Magura DC Ohidul Islam to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, and Satkhira DC Mostak Ahmed to the Ministry of Food.

Meanwhile, Noakhali DC Khandaker Ishtiaq Ahmed has been moved to the Health Services Division, and Pirojpur DC Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan to the Secondary and Higher Education Division.

Other transfers include Bogura DC Hosna Afroz to the Power Division, Dhaka DC Tanvir Ahmed to the Cabinet Division as joint secretary, Gaibandha DC Chowdhury Moazzam Ahmed to the PPP Authority, and Gazipur DC Nafisa Arefin to the Secondary and Higher Education Division as deputy secretary.

In a separate notification, the ministry also appointed 15 deputy secretaries as new DCs and district magistrates in different districts across the country.
