9 flights diverted from Dhaka airport due to dense fog
Nine flights scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka were diverted to alternate airports today (2 January) due to dense fog, authorities said.
In a notice, the Airport Authority said that the diversions were made in the interest of safe flight operations amid poor visibility caused by heavy fog.
According to the authority, four flights were diverted to Chattogram airport, four to Kolkata airport, and one flight to Bangkok airport.
The authority added that once weather conditions improved, normal flight operations, including take-offs and landings, resumed at the airport.
The Airport Authority also thanked passengers for their cooperation and patience during the disruption.
