Police have arrested nine additional suspects in connection with the attacks on the offices of The Daily Star and Prothom Alo last Thursday, bringing the total number of arrests to 26. The attacks in Karwan Bazar involved vandalism, looting, and arson at the Daily Star office, with similar violence targeting the Prothom Alo office. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed that the latest arrests followed analysis of crime scene video footage and coordinated raids by Detective Branch teams across the city. Earlier, 17 suspects had been arrested, and 31 others were identified through video evidence. Police continue their investigation into the attacks.

রাজধানীর কারওয়ান বাজারে ডেইলি স্টার ও প্রথম আলো কার্যালয়ে হামলা, ভাঙচুর, লুটপাট ও অগ্নিসংযোগের ঘটনায় জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে আরও ৯ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। এ নিয়ে এ ঘটনায় মোট গ্রেপ্তারের সংখ্যা দাঁড়াল ২৬ জনে। ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) গণমাধ্যম ও জনসংযোগ বিভাগের উপকমিশনার মুহাম্মদ তালেবুর রহমান মঙ্গলবার এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন। পুলিশ জানায়, গত বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে সন্ত্রাসীরা ডেইলি স্টার কার্যালয়ে হামলা চালিয়ে ব্যাপক ভাঙচুর ও লুটপাটের পর আগুন ধরিয়ে দেয়। ঘটনার পর সংগৃহীত ভিডিও ফুটেজ বিশ্লেষণ করে হামলাকারীদের শনাক্ত করা হয়। এরপর রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের (ডিবি) একাধিক দল এই ৯ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। এর আগে সোমবার ডিএমপি জানিয়েছিল, এ ঘটনায় ১৭ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে এবং ভিডিও ফুটেজ পর্যালোচনায় আরও ৩১ জনকে শনাক্ত করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, ঘটনার সঙ্গে জড়িত অন্যদের গ্রেপ্তারে অভিযান অব্যাহত রয়েছে।
