92 receive police medals for bravery and service

A total of 92 police members have been awarded medals in recognition of bravery, special contribution to duty, investigation of important and sensational cases and innovative activities.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed handed over the medals to the selected police members at a ceremony held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital on Saturday morning, September 26.

Earlier, a notification in this regard was issued from the Police-2 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, September 21. It stated that 92 police members have been nominated for medals in four categories for special contributions in various fields from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.

Among the medal recipients, recognition has been given for displaying courage and bravery, unique roles in public service, investigation of important and sensational cases and innovative activities.

The four categories of medals given to police members are Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM), Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM)-Service, President's Police Medal (PPM) and President's Police Medal (PPM)-Service.

Concerned officials said these medals are given to police members every year according to set criteria in recognition of special contributions to duty and professional skill.
