'93.81pc consumers satisfied with electricity services'

A survey conducted by a private institution says 93.81 percent of consumers are satisfied with the country's electricity services.

A total of 15,245 customers participated in the survey. Out of which residential customers are 13,862 which is 90.93 percent of the total number. Eight percent of them were commercial customers.

Of the service holders, 87.13 percent expressed satisfaction with the quality of service received and 92.97 percent expressed satisfaction with receiving service within desired time while 89.01 customers gave positive feedback about the response to complaints through call center or hotline.

According to the survey results, issues like modern and one-stop digital service centers in customer service centers, increasing technical efficiency, online billing system, increasing the number of prepaid meters, increasing skilled and technically knowledgeable manpower, regular monitoring meetings, informing customers about repair activities in advance were emphasized.

Addressing the survey results release ceremony as the chief guest, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that initiatives have been taken to make electricity services more accessible to consumers. "Providing quality uninterrupted power at an affordable cost is one of the challenges. As the use of technology increases, the quality of service and service delivery will improve."

Senior Secretary of Power Division Md Habibur Rahman, Director General of Power Cell Mohammad Hossain and other officials of Electricity Department were present in this event held at Vidyut Bhaban.
