98 percent garment factories paid Eid bonus: BGMEA

Out of the total 2,127 operating factories in Dhaka and Chittagong, 2,080 garment factories have already paid the Eid bonus. The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) said this in a notification on Tuesday (March 17).

The notification said that a total of 2,127 factories are operating in the two regions. Of these, 1,785 are in Dhaka and 342 are in Chittagong.

2,104 factories have paid their salaries for the month of February, which is 98.92 percent of the total. Of these, 1,767 are in Dhaka and 337 are in Chittagong.

2,080 factories have paid their Eid bonus, which is 97.79 percent of the total. Of these, 1,753 are in Dhaka and 327 are in Chittagong.

In addition, 870 factories have planned to pay their salaries in advance for the month of March, which is 40.90 percent of the total. This includes 840 factories in Dhaka and 30 in Chittagong.
