9-day Eid holiday for govt employees approved
The government has approved a nine-day holiday for its employees on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Council of Advisers, led by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, granted the extended holiday during a meeting on Thursday, a participating member told UNB.
The holiday will run from March 28 to April 5 (Saturday).
According to the previous announcement, the office was supposed to open on Thursday, April 3 after the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday. The next two days were weekly holidays, Friday and Saturday. However, with the announcement of a holiday on April 3, government officials and employees will be able to spend 9 consecutive days with their families.
Two days before the start of this holiday, there is also a holiday for Independence Day and National Day on March 26. The office will be open for one day the next day, Thursday, March 27. As a result, there is more opportunity for leave.
However, according to the government holiday rules, there is no rule for taking casual leave between two holidays. If you take it, it will become a consecutive holiday. However, there is an opportunity to take earned leave. In addition, there is an opportunity to take optional leave.According to the previous announcement, the office was supposed to open on Thursday, April 3 after the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
